I AGREE with Terry Smith (Letters, July 14). I also agree that the Daily Echo article (July 9) was an inaccurate view of the possible move for AFC Totton.
Totton doesn't need more homes; the infrastructure is failing, overdeveloped, building on flood plains, traffic congestion and loss of open space. 19 acres taken, six acres given back.
Views of local residents are disregarded completely by Lindens.
Posters in the BAT club room say support our proposals or gates will be padlocked and the site closed. Linden has a three-year lease on BAT and if planning permission is not forthcoming BAT will take it back.
Shoppers at Totton's Asda were asked by members of both football clubs to sign letters in support of Linden's proposals.
Each letter included an envelope with a first class stamp. The same letters and envelopes were available at the BAT club room.
Little Testwood Farm is allocated as public open space under Policy TE21. If both teams relocate the wildlife will be devastated. Little Testwood Farm is next to Testwood Lakes. These proposals by Linden Homes should not be accepted by New Forest District Council.
A J SHEPHERD, Totton
