SOME letter writers have called for Chief Superintendent Paul Stickler to be sacked for his reply to the recent letters about riding cycles on pavements.

I consider that attitude again proves how fickle some of the public have become. What benefit would be gained by sacking a good, experienced police officer for the sake of one of society's ills?

Perhaps in the near future, the public will wake up and realise we all need to support the boys in blue.
