I AGREE with the correspondents (Letters, July 19) regarding Radio Solent.
To lose Sandy Jones was most unfortunate.
To lose Richard Cartridge could be considered a coincidence.
To also lose Nick Girdler, Sylv Willoughby, Peter White and Dennis Skillicorn seems to indicate that all is not well at the station, run by a management that has no idea of what its listening public want.
I have enjoyed Adam Blackmore's recent morning stint, which has made a most welcome change from Julian Clegg reminding us, with monotonous regularity, that he has no sense of smell, yet strangely enough, when there is food to be sampled, his sense of taste is unaffected!
Having tinkered with the gardening programmes, I am just waiting for Radio Solent to tamper with the sports coverage and football commentaries which will tell me that it is time to retune my radio.
