WHEN children return to their primary schools in September, parents will notice the absence of school liaison police officers.
In its wisdom, Hampshire Constabulary has made a cost cutting decision to remove all 19 officers from primary schools.
Maybe they do not consider educating our children on such issues as road safety, drugs and the perils of strangers as important. I am sure that parents would not agree.
In its place, four officers will be available to target problem schools. So again, hard working people with decent kids lose out for money to be diverted to those sectors of society who fail to control and educate their own children.
