IN the light of all the flooding problems that have hit different parts of the country recently, it does seem strange that the Government is not ruling out any further housing development on flood plains.
Once again, maybe we could be learning lessons from our European neighbours. In Holland, you can buy homes that are located in areas prone to flood, for a cost of about £190,000. It's a sound investment because the homes in question float on top of the water when it rises and settle back down when the water recedes. An idea worth floating here, I think.
