GORDON Brown, Alan Whitehead and John Denham are happy to see Hampshire covered in concrete. I am sure residents are not.
When will this Government wake up and look at the reasons why we need more housing? Perhaps the non-existent immigration controls have something to do with it. In the last five years 2.5 million people that we know about have arrived here.
As for the excuse that we need these people, perhaps Mr Denham, as an education minister, might ensure that British people are trained in skills that are required, like doctors, plumbers and electricians, not in the many over-subscribed jobs with very little future, like media.
Many of the people from abroad are unskilled and are doing low paid jobs and those that are possibly not legal.
Immigration has not only had an effect on housing but also the prisons are overflowing, with one in ten prisoners being an immigrant.
It comes as no surprise that people have had enough of politicians with many believing that this country is ruined for good.
This situation cannot go on. What effect will this have on your children're future?
R A RUDDERHAM, Eastleigh.
