BEFORE Brian Hopper accuses others of talking tosh and seeks to silence them on the subject of climate change, he should (but won't) consider the following: Thirty years ago the coming Ice Age was predicted - it never did come! Moreover, did you know that the world today is cooler than it was in 1200 AD, the medieval warm period? Or that the USA (with some of the world's best climate records) is cooler today than it was in 1930? Also, that over the last 20 years, the Antarctic has been cooling slightly and the ice mass increasing, thus reversing a 6,000 year melting trend?
Climate change alarmism is the topical theme in an excellent new thriller by Michael Crichton - best known for The Andomeda Strain and Jurassic Park. I commend this, too, to Mr Hooper.
