WE write in response to John Bellamy's letter (July 31). We have a valid reason why we object to this development as firstly we back onto the proposed Totton Sports Club where Linden Homes are proposing to cram too many houses on the site.
But more importantly we have a young son who will attend the schools on Ringwood Road opposite the entrance to Totton and Eling Sports Club.
We are big supporters of football and cricket and therefore do not want to hold local clubs back from progressing, but not at the expense of the residents of Totton.
So with all due respect to Mr Bellamy who doesn't live locally and his children will not attend the local schools, where the volume of traffic on Ringwood Road around the Abbottswood, Forest Edge and Lydlynch Schools which are right opposite the proposed development, we feel will increase the dangers and make it only a matter of time before a child is seriously injured or killed.
