TO many the words RAF fireman would conjure up the picture of a red aeroplane with sirens going across the skies heading towards another aeroplane on fire.
Well the RAF and Defence Fire Services are not quite like that. Their duty was, and still is, to carry out the duties of the fire service.
On Ministry of Defence airfields we are looking for more members for our association.
I appeal to everyone to bring to the attention of those who have served as an RAF fireman, and tell them that there is a thriving community of ex-serving and still serving this force, in the RAF and Defence Fire Services Association.
Two reunions are held each year and the next will be in October at the South Downs Holiday Village near Chichester and we would love to welcome new members and see them when they meet some of their old pals after many years!
