I WOULD like to thank readers for their incredible support of the Red Cross National Floods Appeal, which has now raised over £1m.
Your generosity will enable us to support local charities in flood affected areas help vulnerable people, such as the elderly and those with disabled, rebuild their lives. The Red Cross will ensure that the money is spent on those who need it most.
The floods are a terrible, but timely reminder of the need for, and value of, trained volunteers in local communities helping their neighbours in need.
