IF housing is built on the BAT site at Totton the risk of flooding, to both the existing and the potential new housing will be considerably increased.
Part of the site is already saturated and Ringwood Road frequently becomes flooded in heavy rain.
Traffic build up at rush hours and school start/finish times already causes difficulties in the area and more housing will increase this further.
If these concerns mean that we are small minded nimbys, then so be it.
Totton has already fulfilled the required housing quota, why overload the infrastructure even further?
Let's maintain the sports facilities where they are not on the outskirts. In the long run it will be more beneficial to Totton.
Once open space is lost it is lost forever.
CONCERNED TOTTON RESIDENT.
