DO we really need another monument, obelisk or Spitfire, to look at once and forget it?
My wow factor would be to restore the pier where young and old could sit and watch the world go by every day if they wanted to. To watch the big liners leave wishing we could be on it.
The large container ships are always a mystery, the Isle of Wight ferries are something different every day, and of course the icing on the cake would be a bandstand.
I am sure a lot of Sotonians would agree.
