THE Rev Ian Johnson (From the Heart, August 3) is wrong.
In this dangerous world we need our nuclear defence more then ever.
The American dropped the bomb on Japan and saved thousands of Allied lives. How many people would have died if we had bombed every city and town? The full effects of radiation were not known then. The Germans and Russians were trying to develop a nuclear bomb too and they would not have thought twice about using it.
It's a fact of life that our energy needs will require nuclear power.
Iran does not need it as they have massive reserves of oil, the only reason for them to want it is for weapons.
