THE new Conservative Cabinet member for housing and communities, Phil Williams, has finalised plans for the Lordshill Community Centre's temporary new hall.

However, the continuous hard work towards this achivement was from the centre's committee of former Liberal Democrat councillor Ken Darke, Councillor Peter Galton and myself. We worked extremely hard to make sure that funds were found for this project by the then Lib Dem administration.

The people of Lordshill deserve the temporary hall after waiting for more than 30 years.

It's amazing that Labour who held the administration for roughly 19 years and did not contribute much to this community centre in that time, claims to have helped in someway now in the form of newly elected Councillor Don Thomas. Clearly he has not done anything constructive toward this.
