I FULLY agree with Alan Jones in his article A Slap in The Face for the Heroes of 1940 (In My View, August 16).

I think those of us who were alive when the Spitfires ruled the skies would be willing to put up with all the rubbish that is forced upon us as art; just to have a model of a Spitfire on the De Vere roundabout.

I really cannot understand why the Spitfire is turned down when a scruffy pair of underpants stitched on an even scruffier Union Flag is hung in our prestigious art gallery.

Do we need SEEDA?
