I WAS dismayed to read the negative position taken by the landlord of the Court Jester, Paul Shinar, over plans to site a mental health drop-in centre near to his pub (Daily Echo, August 16). What-ever happened to tolerance?
This kind of judgement and prejudice is unhelpful for the clients who use a drop-in centre, all of whom already coexist in the community.
Nor do I think it portrays Mr Shinar in a positive light.
I would have hoped that, as a businessman who benefits from local support, he would have taken this opportunity to give something back to those in his community who face challenges.
