DAVID Griffiths (Letters, August 17) asks, regarding the two new academies to be set up in Southampton, who will pay to bus pupils to these faith schools?
Although they will be run by Oasis Community Learning, a Christian body, they will not be faith schools.
They are intended primarily to improve educational opportunities for children living in the areas in which they are to be located, no matter how many hundreds of parents from other areas might apply in the hope of getting their children admitted. Therefore there will be little, if any, bussing.
