I WAS interested in the graphic reports on the prospects for Hurricane Dean (Daily Echo, August 20).
My son telephoned from a safe haven and commented that hurricane imminent flags on Government poles had blown off and suggested a local firm might be able to offer the Cayman Government some warning and all-clear flags capable of withstanding force five hurricanes.
He and his wife were camped out in her office in a strongly built office block in the capital Georgetown, together with their cat.
Trees were blowing horizontally but the coconut trees in their garden, being tropical plants, have evolved to be able to withstand tropical storms but falling or blown-off coconuts can smash windows or dent a head!
