COUNCILLOR Don Thomas has rapidly become Southampton's answer to Totton councillor David Harrison.
I am sure a spell in a letter writing-free monastery would do them both some good.
However, Cllr Thomas's recent campaign to help local shopping areas cuts no ice. He has forgotten Labour's words to the Bitterne Park Triangle traders who were so keen to promote the local area: "You are just moaning traders. Come back when all of your shops have shut and we will give you regeneration money''.
That is Labour's real message to local shopping areas. You are keen for politicians to be truthful. Cllr Thomas, I suggest you start by looking in a mirror.
COUNCILLOR PETER BAILLIE, Southampton City Council.
