SINCE his arrival in Southampton, the Rev Ian Johnson has, to say the very least, been controversial and confusing to Christians like myself.
Violence as he was recently the victim, must never be condoned, however, this trendy vicar has for years courted some quite unsavoury and often unwelcome comments during all his ministry at St Mary's Church.
When ordained as a priest he vowed and promised to be a true "follower of Jesus" forsaking all other gods and to bring people to faith, in service to God alone.
Wearing a turban and his several visits to mosques however intended, unwittingly or otherwise, has in my view, been a little over the top.
Perhaps the next vicar will be truly born again, solely committed working to save souls from sin and death!
