PAUL Maiden is both eloquent and passionate in his arguments regarding the possible change in facilities for AFC Totton if major development plans on open space in the town are passed. (Daily Echo, August 25). As trustee for the club, he would be failing in his role if he suggested otherwise.
However, one wonders if he has fully considered the lives of the Totton residents living near to the proposed developments, or the impact on Totton residents in general with the added congestion, road safety issues, strain on local infrastructure etc that the proposals would bring.
Most probably not, why should he, for as I understand it, Mr Maiden lives in Chandler's Ford.
TERRY SMITH, Totton.
