I COULDN'T believe my eyes reading about the closure of Linden House care home.
On behalf of my sister, a resident, I would endorse the high praise given to the staff, conditions and provision of meals and things to do for the residents.
In spite of suffering from Alzheimer's she was able to tell me, unasked, how lucky she is to be there, because she is very happy there.
Moving people like her, indeed all of the residents, will be distressing at the very least. Is there any possibility at all of a change of heart?
I am curious as to the equipment needed now that was not available 34 years ago when it was built. It must be bulky and worthwhile. The statement is rather vague.
Assuming it goes ahead and since they will not be together, what criteria will be used, I wonder, when choosing who goes where?
Cynics among us will be wondering if the income to be derived from the sale of Linden House had an effect on the decision to close this highly prized establishment.
