MANY will be concerned by the Government's relaxing of the laws on gambling.
While having a flutter on the horses or dogs is an established individual pursuit, visiting the local bingo hall, while still gambling, does provide for social intercourse.
Also there is always the possibility of winning big time on the National Lottery. For £1 - it could well be you. This I believe should be the limit of organised gambling.
It is those with the least in life that will become addicted to gambling. It is, sadly, these vulnerable people that will always need help. The Government should provide this with better secondary education, create worthwhile job opportunities, cheaper housing, etc.
The tax money is already in the system, but if gambling becomes an addiction for many, as it will, then the tax money will have to be spent on welfare.
