I AGREE with Terry Scriven (In My View, September 1) about the cycleways being poor in Totton. I thought when they did the repairs to Salisbury Road they were going to put in a cycleway but all they have done is put a few markings at side roads and junctions.
It would be a good idea if they had slopes instead of steps over the railway bridge in Brokerford Lane, like the one on the cycleway between west Totton and the Ashurst Bridge estate, so that cyclists coming from Hounsdown, Rushington and Eling can avoid Rumbridge Street and Junction Road when going to north Totton.
I think the cycleway between Ashurst and Lyndhurst is a big improvement.
