THE fact that Ralph Prothero (Letters, September 5) can write such drivel is a testament to the freedom of speech available to us all thanks, in no small part, to the four volunteers commemorated on the Southampton Cenotaph whether in Spain or indeed the rest of Europe that fought the war against fascism.
