SANDRA Gidley has requested a meeting with the chief constable of Hampshire following the Chandler's Ford shootings.
She seems to have made up her mind with his comment: "This would appear to be a police operation gone badly wrong", so why waste his time?
The police should be praised for preventing the loss of life of others.
Police risk their lives daily so that we remain safe. Their job is made all the more difficult with the liberal attitude of the minority. The majority of us applaud the work that they do. It's a shame that the media don't print headlines that support our police.
None of us know the truth behind last week's events. We should wait for the outcome of the IPCC investigation before making further comment. To be asking for a public inquiry at this time is ridiculous and a waste of money. Money that could be better spent in giving the police the resources they need.
I cannot help but think that Sandra Gidley is using this for selfpublicity. She has asked the local community to support the police. Perhaps she should give her support before asking us to do so!
KAREN, Fair Oak.
