CHRISTINE Cassell (letters 28th April) asks a pertinent question when she enquires where the responsibility for the problem with PPEs for front line NHS workers lies.
Is it, as she suggests, the fault of the Civil Service? Or is it down to the NHS which has a civil service of it's own? Or is it both? I do not know.
Christine's demand for an inquiry when this dreadful business is over is spot on and will give us the answer to this and all the questions we have (provided it is independent and is not a whitewash).
Also, when this emergency is over, we must remember that the NHS is there to protect us and not vice versa.
Billions of pounds (of our money) are invested into it every year and it must be more accountable.
We are told that the world will be a different place and we will have to adjust. This applies also to the NHS.
More money? Of course. Reform? Definitely.
