HOW I agree with the observations of Ron Burlingham regarding the lack of headlights on vehicles. Invariably, within minutes of leaving home, I count at least two or three cars minus a headlight and I have now turned it into a game, just to see how many I can spot.
The fact is, it is not a game - it is dangerous, as these cars can easily be mistaken for motor bikes, giving oncoming traffic a false sense of road room. It is bad enough having to contend with cyclists with no lights, now it seems that some motorists are also joining in, having no regard for the potential hazard they could cause, especially on poorly lit narrow roads.
