I FEEL I must reply to the typical "nimby'' letter sent in by Pauline and Peter Hobby (letters, April 4) I take it they walk or pony and trap everywhere and don't ever use Marchwood by pass, Twyford cutting, Newbury bypass etc!
Surely their village life will be improved by diverting traffic round Lyndhurst through a couple of miles of Forest, all the people who work, shop and walk through Lyndhurst High Street wouldn't have to breathe in carbon monoxide fumes all day every day as they do now.
I work in Lymington, live in Totton, and have spent hours every year queueing to get through your village traffic lights, wondering why you lot have objected to a bypass for years and years, it makes no sense!
There are many many acres of Forest for leisure purposes. I and my friends love the Forest and are walking out there every week, but steer clear of Lyndhurst weekends, as it takes so long to get through!
Where too are the suitable HGV roads that already exist that you mention if one is coming from Lymington, Brockenhurst, New Milton etc? Please try to come up with something constructive instead of just saying No, No, No to every suggestion.
