PLEASE could you print my letter so the powers that be' will know how sad we feel.
Sembal House Resource Centre for physically disabled adults has informed us they are to close down in the foreseeable future. Everyone is shattered!
Southampton City Council have been running the centre since 1972 in Handel Terrace, and it's such a lovely place to attend. The staff are very caring, our cook always smiling and a caretaker out of this world. There is always something to do. We have guests and entertainment too.
We also meet our friends and enjoy a good natter and we have two blind clients who are a joy to be with. Tea/coffee etc is served mornings and afternoons and we enjoy a cooked lunch or salad. We also have a lovely hairdresser and a shop to meet our needs.
I would willingly pay for transport and also pay to attend on our allotted day(s).
I cannot put a price on the facilities we have and I am not looking forward to a future without Sembal House. It is an icon'. Please can someone change their minds regarding closure.
A VERY WORRIED CLIENT
