BRITAIN is clearly not prepared for the economic downturn. Our government has spent the money in the good times and not saved for a rainy day.
Families are being squeezed by increased tax rises. The average tax bill in Southampton will go up by £150 this year.
The Labour government has allowed personal debt levels to explode which means there is a lack of liquidity in the markets, this impacts on the availability of mortgages and a credit crunch. Any future government has got to be better prepared for a downturn than this Labour government which has been complacent.
They are now hitting hard working families and pensioners expecting security in their retirement.
Locally and nationally they tax and spend without realising the basic fact that people can't afford Labour anymore.
