SO there are six people earning over £100,000 a year on the Southampton City Council. I wonder what they do for that money? I know one thing, whatever they do they are not worth that!
Southampton is getting to be a real eyesore, we just seem to build endless flats and hotels, the WestQuay is supposed to be one flagship, some flagship!
Have you tried getting into the place by car at busy times? It's total madness because of bad road layouts and having car parks by roundabouts so cars have nowhere to go, so you just get stuck in endless queues.
As for our roads around the city, there are endless pot holes caused by under funding and when they do get round to doing them the workmanship is so bad, six months down the line they need doing again!
Who ever employs the contractors who do the work for the council should be sacked from his job! I give you one example. Shirley High Street pavements, not been done long but most are loose and uneven and yet the council are now doing the rest of the High Street, as for the town shopping precinct, they are always digging that up.
The council are now on about a £13m art centre, what a joke! We can't even insure the art we have now, why not ask the people of Southampton what they want for a change instead of just doing what the council want.
The whole area of the seafront from Mayflower Park to Ocean Village has been wasted.
With the right planning we could have turned it into something like Blackpool seafront, which would have brought people to the town.
Being from Southampton I hate to say this but Portsmouth is way ahead of us at the moment, so come on council wake up and start to give us a city to be proud of.
B JONES, Shirley
