I WENT to see Roverang on Thursday and was thrilled to bits with it - the standard has improved no end since I was a Cub Scout Leader until I had to retire 15 years ago.
We hear so much of what the bad youngsters do, but not enough of the hundreds of good youngsters who spend their time enjoying themselves and not wanting to annoy others. The kids and teenagers in this show must have worked VERY hard to get to the standard they were. After all one's youth is for enjoying life without too many problems - they come later in life! Well done also to the leaders, producers etc. who must have put in many hours (unpaid of course), but there again, they do it because they enjoy the company of young people.
Keep it up Scouting and Guiding and if there are any readers who would like to be Leaders - go for it - I miss it terribly - I know at times you think you'd rather stay at home, but once you are there it is well worth it.
