IT is obvious that the ferries between Lymington and Yarmouth have to be replaced because they are more than 34 years old and users are lucky they are having a replacement.
Lymington has lots of visitors, in particular those who go to and from the Isle of Wight, and they often stop in Lymington, it being a lovely town.
Without the ferries Lymington will die, the railway will pack up, the market will eventually go, the river cruises will stop and the shops and pubs shut one by one, leaving Lymington as a ghost town.
Also living by the water myself it is the smaller boats that give out the biggest swell on the River Itchen as they like to go faster than normal, leaving the larger boats to obey orders and reduce the swell.
I love Lymington and we go on the train. If that stops we will not be able to get there.
