I DEFINITELY hope developers won't get their way in Woolston, which will tear the heart out of the community.
Woolston must be the last shopping area which has kept its originality with its shops hardly changed in years.
It has a bakery which makes fresh bread and cakes every day. The wool shop must be one of the last left in Southampton.
There is also a fish and chip shop and a shoe shop managed by the owner who gives an excellent service, no requests denied.
Need I say more?
Now we read that those dreaded developers want to build hideous blocks of flats for their buyers to have the views from the foreshore, not the people of Woolston, which is so unfair.
No thank you!
Let's try to keep Woolston as it is, for all its residents and businesses alike. Woolston doesn't want modernising.
If we don't speak up now developers will walk over us all, and ruin Woolston.
