I am concerned about the abuse of power and the war on the poor that supermarkets are having on each and everyone of us. Whatever abuse they reign overseas ultimately comes back to haunt us. Everyone is affected.

The charity Action Aid discovered that in India women processing cashew nuts destined for our shelves, are being paid 30p per day. How can anyone with all good conscience buy such products when armed with these facts?

After a long investigation into supermarket power, the Competition Commission will report its findings on how supermarkets affect us all, by the beginning of May.

This Commission must recommend a new watchdog to regulate how supermarkets do business. This would help long term, to ensure millions of workers are paid a living wage.

Together with 40,000 other people I have joined Actions Aid's Who Pays? campaign to make supermarkets play fair here and overseas.

Please lend your support at actionaid.org.uk/whopays.

Someone has to do something to curb the supermarkets abuse of power, that someone is each and everyone of us.
