Regarding the abolition of the 10 per cent tax band in the Budget of 2007 under Gordon Brown.
As I recall, during the live broadcast, when he said the word "abolish", the Labour back benchers actually cheered the statement. They either did not understand the implications of the statement or were carried away with the blind obedience of hanging on every word that awful man said.
Now the chickens are coming home to roost they are coming to realise that the less well off will be financially penalised because of it.
MPs have had nearly a year to come to grips with this and only now get the significance of this action. It is too late!
