WOW! My letter (April 11) produced an immediate response from central Government!
I heard on the news the next day that it is estimated that 70 per cent of all litter is thrown from vehicles and the law is to be changed so that the culprit does not need to be identified.
It will be enough to show that the litter came from the vehicle.
This is good news but we will have to wait and see whether the change in law has the desired effect; if the example of mobile phone use in cars is anything to go by litter will continue to be thrown out in large quantities. Habits are hard to change.
