IN reply to Mrs Saunders' letter about aircraft noise, as a resident of Midanbury for 20 years, I would like to point out that when we moved to this area the airport was here, but it was an internal flights airport only, now it is international, with bigger planes than ever before, and more of them.
The airport does not help itself by altering flight paths. After take-off, aircraft are supposed to turn right as soon as possible, over Bitterne Park, broadly following the river. However, they are not doing this, they are taking off and turning left which puts them over Midanbury, this starts at 6.35am every day.
If the aircraft adhered to flight paths, perhaps less people, who before were not under the flight path, would find a need to complain.
