Councillor David Beckett's decision to scrap the traffic lights at Woodmill Bridge within days of the coalition coming to power just about sums up the laugh a minute local Lib Dems that have unfortunatly been the voice of the people of Swaythling for the last few years.
If 50,000 people were asked, the percentages would have been even more overwhelming.
The lights would have been the intelligent type ( which would have been only switched on at peak times.
At a cost of £100,000 consultation this seem a big price to pay.
That's another fine mess you got us into!
RICHARD ROWE, Bitterne Park, Southampton.
