LORDSHill Oasis Academy (a private religious based organisation) are working to open a new school building on the five acres field recreation site on the edge of Southampton in September 2011, so much for being in the heart of the community, also this building will be facing Test Valley.
Oasis said many times they wanted to be in the heart of the community then why oh why did they not look at sites in the heart of the community, sites such as the old Ordnance Survey site, or even re-build on the old Millbrook school site, what is the fascination of making our children go across some of our most busy, and main, roads to the outskirts of Southampton.
I have always believed that Oasis should have explained more clearly regarding plans for combining our local schools both Oakland’s and Millbrook on a new school site and what this would mean for the local community.
