I FEEL that I must write to someone about Southampton Crematorium. On Christmas Day this year, I visited the Crematorium with my husband, to pay our respects with a wreath for his parents. After walking through rubble, everything dying off, and lots of other memorials, we were very disgusted in the state of the grounds.
Shrubs had been demolished in some areas, and not cleared away, and all in all it was an utter disgrace to the Community.
My own parents have been cremated in South Wales, and I am proud to think that my parents are at rest in such a beautifully kept crematorium, which I might add is a realy pleasure to visit when I possible can. I am sure that I am not the only person to think about the state of the crematorium in this way, and I only wish that someone could find the time, to have a good look around the place and do something about it. I have heard that another crematorium is going to be built, well all I can say is that I sincerely hope that whoever is in charge of it, will have more respect. J Waters, Southampton.
