WHAT exactly is John Burke (letters December 27) trying to prove? In one breath he is belittling Peter Stewart for casting aspersions on the European Union, then he goes on to say what a raw deal he and his fellow workers at Ford Swaythling plant (and all British workers) are getting compared with the French, German’s etc in Europe.
Surely this must tell him what a slippery slope it is for the British in such a union.
The fact that our weak government is denying the British worker equal rights does not necessarily imply that they are making the rules but just administering them, maybe I should explain to John Burke, ‘Brussels’ is not just little green balls we have with our Turkey at Christmas.
I can only assume by his comments concerning both Labour and Conservatives and his obvious leanings toward EU membership regardless of where it is leading this country that he has to be a Lib-Dem supporter.
His last snide comment about UKIP changing things reminds me of the Marmite advert (you either love it or you hate it), the only difference is he’s hating something that’s never been tried so he should not be complaining.
