I COMPLETELY agree with Mrs Kinchington (Letters “Playing God with health’’, regarding not wanting fluoride added to our water. The main reason I have heard to support the addition of fluoride in our water is that “children under school age have tooth decay by the time they start school’’.
Can I suggest then that parents stop giving their children sweets, chocolate, sugary food, cola and other fizzy drinks which are the main cause of tooth decay and give them snacks comprising raw vegetables and fruit instead? Then perhaps the rest of the population can enjoy untampered-with water! There are too many doubts about fluoridisation, in my view, and not enough strong, sturdy, tested reasons to allow it being added to our drinking water!
