THE hype given to the dilemma of Fords has carried many comments carrying the blame on Maggie Thatcher.
May I respectfully remind these complainers and refer them to the late 1950s and 1960s. It was at this period that Britain produced 12 times more electricity by nuclear power than the rest of the world put together. Remember Adwest the six Supermarine factories two Saunders and Roe, two Dehavilland, AST Hamble all went at that time.
This also affected Follands, English Electric, remember the Lightning the fastest and best fighter plan in the world, dumped and Wilson closed the nuclear programme. I could go on and on.
All this before Maggie came along. But then this is all about the blame and envy culture.
