WHY is it that more and more, lower flying aircraft use Burley as part of their flight path especially Bisterne Close?
Surely during daylight hours pilots can see houses and during the night, lights on!
There is quite a wide area of land between the villages of Sway and Burley, that should be the flight path, and again between Burley Street towards Picket Post.
I am sure the aeroplanes are now below the flight height, for so far out from Bournemouth International Airport, or as we locals will always remember it as simply Hurn. Which was never meant to be used as an airport, but for repairs and prior to that, a war time airfield.
But Bournemouth grabbed it away from Christchurch, renamed it and have been nothing but a damn nuisance ever since.
We were told that there is now an online tracking system where we residents can report planes which are not keeping to the rules. Why should we, aircraft controllers are meant to do that! Anyway, who is going to take any notice? The airport, I don’t think so.
RICHARD GRANT, Burley.
