I NOTICED the other day the echo mentioned some new bus adverts that have been causing quite a stir in the city.
The adverts for those who missed the article state ‘There is probably no God, so stop worrying and enjoy life.’ These adverts have been funded by a Humanist Society, with some large contributions coming from popular science fiction author Richard Dawkins.
Originally the creators of the advert wanted it to say ‘There is no God.’ But as this was not provable they had to insert the word probably, making the whole statement a bit ridiculous.
I suppose if we wanted to know what God thought about this we should look no further than the First Bus depot where coincidentally several well maintained and looked after buses have had sudden mechanical failures.
The coincidence? All three of these buses have these adverts plastered across them. Divine retribution? Probably.
