LIKE many others I was sad to read of Debbie Thrower leaving Meridian in the station's shake up. Last year we invited Debbie to be our guest at our 60th Anniversary Lunch for the WRAC Association. We had a personal reply stating she would be on holiday and unable regretfully to accept.
Seeking publicity for new members we gratefully accepted an offer from a reporter that they would visit a branch meeting if we could get there early. We were glad to accept, but this went on for three months and cancelled each time.
Later I wrote to Meridian three times, with NO reply and then followed this up with telephone calls to the station with very negative replies from a lady, in short NO ONE WAS INTERESTED. Surely to be successful they need us as much as we would like to need them?
