CAN someone explain why charities put bags through the door and then don’t bother to collect the filled bags. One charity should have collected bags Wednesday. My neighbour, recently widowed, filled two bags (his own and mine) with his late wife’s clothes only to find them still on the doorstep last night somewhat damp. He has had the upsetting task of empying them this morning to take to the local Salvation Army bin. He wanted to help others but surely others could help themselves. I rang the helpline who really couldn’t have cared less. I, for one, will not be filling any further bags.

By the way, there are quite a few other bags in Calmore still full up and wet.
