I’M writing to encourage your readers to join me in getting fit and active this spring, by signing up to take part in an event for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
On April 26th I’ll be joining the BHF Heart Runners team at the Flora London Marathon. I’m determined to finish the course and help support the nation’s heart charity so I’m working hard to fit my training around filming for Holby City.
I’ll be running for a cause close to my heart because heart disease runs in my family. My grandfather died of a heart attack and now my father suffers from high cholesterol which is a big risk factor for developing heart disease.
Taking part in an event is a great way to get fit and have fun! By choosing to support the BHF you’ll also be doing your bit to raise vital funds to help beat heart disease.
So, if you’ve already secured your own place in the London Marathon, why not join me on the BHF Heart Runners team? Or, if you don’t feel quite ready for a marathon, the BHF has a host of running, cycling and walking events for all abilities taking place across the country in 2009. You can even sign up to take part in another event, like the Great North Run, for the BHF.
To find out more about joining the BHF Heart Runners team or taking part in a BHF event visit bhf.org.uk/events or call 0844 477 1181.
Thanks for your help, Phoebe Thomas, actress.
